【商品説明】
京都の人形工芸店にて購入した、
義経伝説を題材とした管人形（操り人形）8体一式です。
牛若丸（源義経）が鞍馬山で烏天狗・鞍馬天狗と修行し、
弁慶と出会い、静御前と生きた悲劇的な生涯を表現した、
物語性のある構成となっています。
いずれも 未使用・稼働前 の状態で、
購入時の箱に入れて大切に保管していた品です。

義経（牛若丸）
本作の義経人形は二種の姿で表されています。
一体は横笛を吹き、市女笠に虫の垂衣（むしのたれぎぬ）を垂らして顔を覆った、平安期の雅やかな装いの姿です。
もう一体は横笛と扇子を携え、剣の代わりに扇子で弁慶に立ち向かう場面を表しており、武芸と美を併せ持つ義経の人物像を象徴しています。
弁慶
弁慶人形は、腕が稼働する構造となっており、操ることで腕の動きに連動して長刀を豪快に振る、躍動感ある仕掛けが施されています。
剛勇無双の荒法師としての迫力と、からくり人形ならではの立体的な動きを併せ持つ、見応えのある造形です。
静御前について（物語背景）
静御前は、源義経の恋人として知られる白拍子です。
義経が追討され命を落とした後、
鎌倉・鶴岡八幡宮の能舞台にて、
源頼朝の前で舞を舞った人物として伝えられています。
その舞は、表向きは祝舞でありながら、
内には義経への深い想いと恨みを込めた
悲劇の舞であったとされています。
本品は、その白拍子・静御前の姿を表現した管人形です。

【Description】
This is a complete set of 8 traditional Japanese Karakuri puppets (rod-controlled puppets),
purchased in Kyoto from a traditional doll crafts shop.
The set is based on the famous Japanese legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune,
depicting his training at Mount Kurama with the Karasu Tengu,
his encounter with Benkei, and his tragic life together with Shizuka Gozen.
All puppets are unused and unoperated,
carefully stored in their original boxes since purchase.

Yoshitsune (Ushiwakamaru)
This set includes two Yoshitsune figures, each depicting a different aspect of his legendary character.
One figure portrays Yoshitsune playing a transverse flute, wearing a sheer face veil (mushi-no-tareginu) draped from an ichime-gasa hat, reflecting the refined elegance of Heian-period court attire.
The other depicts Yoshitsune holding a flute and a folding fan, confronting Benkei with the fan in place of a sword, symbolizing his grace, intelligence, and fearless spirit.
Benkei
The Benkei figure is designed with articulated arms, featuring a dynamic mechanism that allows him to swing his long sword in coordination with the movement of his arms.
This expressive construction vividly conveys Benkei’s formidable strength and presence, combining the bold character of the warrior monk with the mechanical charm unique to traditional Japanese karakuri puppets.
About Shizuka Gozen
Shizuka Gozen was the lover of Minamoto no Yoshitsune
and is remembered as a tragic historical figure in Japanese history.
After Yoshitsune’s death, she is said to have performed a dance
in front of Minamoto no Yoritomo at the Noh stage of
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Kamakura.
Although presented as a celebratory dance,
it was believed to express her deep sorrow and resentment,
making it a tragic and symbolic performance.
This puppet represents Shizuka Gozen as a shirabyoshi dancer.
