Widely known for his string of master works released in the '70s, Brazilian genius Harton Salvanini continued to flourish in film and TV. This 1989 release is his last confirmed studio album. His brother Ayrton Salvanini also appears on this album, and as the title "Reminiscing for a Truck Driver" suggests, the album primarily features songs with a lifelong sense of Saudades, as if looking back on life. It includes ballad type “Nas Asas Da Imaginao” which borders on new age soundacape, “Maran” with its compelling synth work and grand scale, the tenderly sung “Tenho Saudades...” and two B-side tracks ‘Sair’ and “Au,” showcasing a funky side. Though this was likely a period when he was composing music for media projects, the soundscapes retain a distinct romanticism. Listen closely and you'll appreciate its quality. Extremely rare.
70年代の傑作揃いのリリースで広く知られその後も映画やTVの世界で活躍したブラジルが生んだ天才音楽家Harton Salvanini。本作はリリース作品としては最後に確認されている89年作。この作品では兄のAyrton Salvaniniも参加しながらタイトル”トラック運転手を懐かしむ ”に見るようにどこか人生を振り返るようなサウダージが一つのキーワードとなった楽曲を中心に収録。ニューエイジにも近いバラード曲”Nas Asas Da Imaginao”、シンセ使いとスケールの大きさにグッとくる”Maran”、しっとりと歌い上げる”Tenho Saudades...”、ファンキーな側面を見せるB面の二曲”Sair”と”Au”。メディア関係の楽曲制作を行っていた時期だとは思いますロマンティシズムを感じさせるサウンド・メークは失われていません。聴き込むと良さがわかって頂けると思います。超稀少。
